The Orion Church International (OCI) was founded in 1969 by the evangelist Andre' and Maud Coetzee. The church was initially a mission's church called "Mo'rewaak Pentecostal Mission" operating through tent evangelism travelling extensively throughout South Africa and Namibia.
The Orion " A new star out of dawn" was taken from Job 9vs9 : 'He is the maker of the Bear andOrion, the Pleiades and the constellation of the south". The Orion being the birthplace of stars. Subidiary churches have since been established under the banner of OCI, such as in Kimberley, Namibia and Cape Town its base. OCI is headed by the eldest son of the Evangelist Andre' Coetzee. Pastor Nicky Coetzee has ever since been doing the work of an evangelist and pastor from 1995.
He is espoused to Malanie Samantha who serves alongside him; building OCI, pursuing the VISION and providing a place for people to develop in their faith and natural gifts so they may shine like "stars in the universe" (Phill 2v14), to accomplish all that God purposed for their lives.
