The route is part of the Green Kalahari in the Northern Cape and mostly runs next to the Orange River, including the small towns and settlements of Kanoneiland, Kenhardt, Keimoes, Friersdale, Kakamas, Marchandt, Augrabies, Riemvasmaak and including the Augrabies Falls National Park. The route is about 800km from all the main cities, like Cape Town, Johannesburg & Pretoria, with Windhoek and Durban just over 1000km. We are en-route to two attractions in the Northern Cape namely the Augrabies Falls and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and on the way to the Namaqualand flower splendour, Cape Town and Namibia.
The Kokerboom Food & Wine route combines a land of extremes and contrasts with the green vibrance of the Orange River and the desert surroundings, covering Riemvasmaak, Augrabies and Klein Pella.
“The human spirit needs places where nature has not be rearranged by the hand of man” tourists will find that peace and silence on the Route, while adventure tourists will be entice with the adventure menu on the route.
