Off The Ground Festivals

Santa landed on top of Ponte Tower one Christmas eve. He looked around to see Johannesburg completely barren and overrun by the Ghost of Christmas Past. Rudolph, his prized reindeer turned to him, his nose glowing like a burning red fireball and said "Where is the XMAS spirit? There is no spirit here." Santa, overcome with disappointment, turned to Rudolph and said "There will be a place beyond the outskirts of Honeydew where the XMAS spirit will grow, where friends will be made and laughter will line the trees like mistletoe in the winter. There will be celebration, love and harmony, where people will embrace and toast to the day the XMAS spirit returned. This XMAS spirit will continue to grow until the whole of Johannesburg and South Africa is completely covered by a giant red XMAS blanket! This, my dear friend, is what started at Off The Ground Xmas in July 2017 and this, my dear friend, will continue to grow for many years to come." Rudolph looked at Santa, his nose burning even brighter and said "Tis' the REASON to be jolly".
