As Oceanwise produces its fish land-based recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS), and utilizes only traceable, sustainable, GMO free & additive free feed, with environmental management programs entrenched to manage & limit waste & energy consumption, Oceanwise Dusky Kob/Kabeljou (Argyrosomus japonicus) are Green listed by WWF-SASSI. This can be verified by texting the name 'Dusky Kob' to the WWF-SASSI sms fish status help line: 079 499 8795, which confirms 'onland farmed Dusky Kob as the Best Choice 'GREEN' rating. In contrast wild caught Kob as bycatch from inshore trawling is rated 'RED" and should be avoided.

Consumers are encouraged to ask their fishmongers, waiters, or chefs about the WWF-SASSI rating of any fish species before ordering or purchasing, to ensure that they are supporting responsible sustainable seafood and avoiding further over-exploitations of our Oceans and sensitive marine ecosystems.
