More about Ocean Blue Scuba

Ocean Blue Scuba is a certified PADI Dive Centre located Durban North, just north of the vibrant city of Durban in South Africa. We offer PADI diver training from Discover Scuba Diver through to PADI Divemaster. The Bubblemaker programme is perfect for kids who are keen to start diving.

Situated just 20 minutes’ drive from King Shaka International Airport, along the Sugar Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, the resort village of Umhlanga Rocks is one of the most popular holiday destinations in South Africa.
A wide variety of resorts, hotels, malls, restaurants and pubs, make Umhlanga a favourite amongst both local and international visitors.

Many reefs and shipwrecks make Durban a superb diving destination. Shallow shore entry dives are available at Vetch’s Pier and along the harbour’s northern breakwater which also includes the Odd Wreck.
Boat’s launch daily from Vetch’s Beach heading to the reefs and wrecks in the area. Launches can also be arranged directly from Umhlanga on request, provided enough divers are on board.
Wrecks suitable for recreational diving include the Fontao, T-Barge and the mysterious Cooper’s Wreck. Many other wrecks below 40m can also be dived for those with technical diving training.

The reef complexes of Blood Reef (named after the abandoned whaling station) and No. 1 reef offer abundant soft corals, sponges and diverse fish life.
Dives in the uShaka Marine World tanks are also available.

In addition to Scuba diving, there are many other activities in the area, including snorkeling, boat trips, deep sea fishing, surfing, paddling, kite boarding and many nature reserves.
