OBANJENI YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FUND is an initiative founded by young Mtunzini progressive servant leaders with the purpose of addressing and fighting against socio-economic ills.

Such as (HIV/AIDS, TB, SUBSTANCE AND DRUG ABUSE, TEENAGE PREGNANCY, POVERTY, UNEMPLOYMENT, CHILD ABUSE, SCHOOL DROPOUT, CRIME, VIOLENCE) besetting the youth and engage the youth in coming up with local practical solution to these challenges as they jeopardise the prospects of young people to realise their full potential and achieving their dreams.

We are in the forefront to eradicating the mentality and dependency of hand outs but encourage a hands up mentality as the means to encourage and inculcate the idea of hard work to earn a living and finally eradicating amongst the youth the mentality of entitlement but encouraging young people to stand up and bring sustainable and positive change to themselves as individuals and their communities and to the whole nation.

Create a safer, healthier, and more prosperous South Africa where all people particularly young people have easy access to educational financial aid , educational resources, skills development and job opportunities they need to contribute to the local economy, and to our great rainbow nation.

MISSION
OYEF is a Non-profit organisation on a mission to provide financial aid and educational resources to academically eligible students from rural communities who are orphans and financially needy to further their studies and holistically empower youth with sustainable youth development programmes so that they can be able to make healthy decisions so that they can be able to realise their full potential.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Provide Scholarships and Bursaries and educational resources to academically deserving students from rural communities who are orphans and financially needy to further their studies in TVET Colleges and Universities.

Provide Career Guidance Education , Organise Career Expos and workshops for in school learners and out of school youth.

Provide Psychosocial Support to the youth.

Fight against TB and HIV/AIDS epidemic through awareness campaigns in school, community and work places to bring behavioural change and provide care and support to those infected and affected.

Organise Leadership and Life Skills, Entrepreneurship Skills and Job preparation Skills workshops/Seminars/Conferences and Youth Camps.

Establish a multipurpose centre with a community library, a conference centre, a study room and a skills centre that will administer youth and community services.

Partner and liase with government departments, individuals, non-profit organisations, private sector, churches, educational institutions, accredited SETA and international organisations sharing similar vision and mission to develop youth and the community.


Promote and Invest in young people’s education and skills development.

Promote and organise Sports, Arts and Cultural Activities amongst the youth.

Facilitate youth development with all sectors of society and to consolidate youth initiatives that enhances the capabilities of young people to transform the economy and society. This will be achieved by addressing their needs; promoting positive outcomes, opportunities, choices and relationships; and providing the support necessary to develop all young people, particularly those outside the social, political and economic mainstream.
