The National Lotteries Commission (NLC), which evolved out of the National Lotteries Board, was established in terms of the Lotteries Amendment Act (No 32 of 2013) to regulate the National Lottery as well as other lotteries – including society lotteries – to raise funds and promotional competitions.
Our duty as the NLC is to advise on the Minister of Trade and Industry policy, oversee the national lottery, provide funding for good causes, and regulate competitions. Our vision is to be the catalyst for social commitment.
