THE FORTUNATE MISCALCULATION

Wynand returned from a hunting trip in May 2016. After a slight miscalculation of the amount of meat that can be expected from a single Blue Wildebeest and a vague instruction to the butcher he ended up with 750 Blue Wildebeest patties. The options available were eating two patties every day for the next year or selling the patties to friends and family to ensure these patties receive the appreciation they deserve.

Then in May 2017 the miscalculations struck once more. This time Wynand ensured that the instruction on the number of patties were clearly communicated but he grossly overestimated the size of his deep freeze when his meat weighing in at 250kg arrived in Cape Town. Utilising the experience gained from last year's meat trading endeavours he tapped into his existing "client base" and the excess meat were sold within a week.

Renaldo formed part of Wynand's "client base" and after witnessing the success of his side project, the idea was born to combine Renaldo's meat industry connections and experience with Wynand's distribution network to supply quality meat to satisfied clients on a consistent basis.

My Wholesaler is a partnership between Renaldo Jacobs and Wynand Venter. Renaldo qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 after which he practised his trade in the meat industry gaining significant experience in optimising the meat trading business model. Wynand also qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and practised his trade in the corporate finance industry.

Our end goal is to deliver a full spectrum of fresh goods on a daily basis to the entire City of Cape Town. For now we have made the conscious decision to focus on a specific product to be delivered on a specific day in a specific area to ensure that we perfect our service offering to our initial target market before branching out to other regions and product lines.

We will deliver quality meat at wholesale prices to your front door.
