Music In The Meadow

Music in the Meadow is an initiative that has been started to promote the talents of amateur musicians and performing artists, no matter what their leaning is. This way we hope to assist, musicians, actors, comedians, magicians, in fact anyone who entertains, to achieve their dream of pursuing a career in their chosen field. We want to do this in a non threatening and family oriented environment, hence afternoon concerts in the open air, under a plane tree in a beautiful meadow.

Our aim is to provide financial assistance too. Not study bursaries and the “big ticket” items, but maybe help with music lessons, acquiring an instrument, cutting a demo disc and the like. Small things that can really help.

The concerts will take the format of 1 and ½ hours of amateur music, where aspirant performers can gain experience performing in front of an audience as well as the all important exposure to help launch their careers, followed by an hour’s performance by an established artist, to show how it should be done.

A nominal entrance fee per car will be charged to cover basic expenses, for example, toilet hire. In addition, donations can be made according to what each member of the audience feels the show was worth. In this way we hope to raise money to buy much needed equipment so we can provide a professional, technically sound platform for our performers and help deserving candidates reach their dream when finance is a problem.
