BACKGROUND ON THE COMPANY

MRI Botswana Limited (“MRIB”) was started as a regional expansion project into Southern Africa by MRI Holding (RSA) Limited in March 1992. At that time, no pre-hospital emergency health care facilities existed in Botswana. As a result, MRIB experienced exponential growth since its inception and became the household name and first point of call in an emergency situation.

1. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DIVISION

MRIB Emergency Medical Services division operates at Advanced Life Support Paramedic level with direct medical oversight by the company’s Medical Director who is a qualified Medical Doctor. MRIB has been contracted by the major medical aids in Botswana to provide pre-hospital emergency health care to their members.
MRIB has since then opened Emergency Medical Services (EMS) bases in Palapye, Francistown and Maun to provide further coverage for the major medical aid members. MRIB operates both ground and air ambulance services, the latter covers the entire country and extends regionally to cover calls for assistance outside of the national borders.

2. ON-SITE MEDICAL SERVICES

MRIB also operates Remote-Site medical services for a number of locations in the Mining Industry. MRIB services here incorporate both EMS response and evacuation, as well as Occupational Health and Primary Healthcare solutions for our clients’ employees. We offer such clients an enhanced healthcare package including the setup, staffing and management of on-site clinic facilities with additional staffing encompassing employee pre-employment screening, occupational health screening, general employee health matters, healthcare and social counselling services, and emergency incident response and management. Staffing is customized to the clients’ needs, from basic to advanced life support paramedics, occupational health nurses, and medical doctors.

3. CONTACT CENTRE SOLUTIONS

MRIB coordinates its national and international activities from its 24-hour contact center which is based in Gaborone. In addition to medical contact center services, the Contact Centre also provides a number of customized contact center services to private companies, parastatals and government departments, including a number of healthcare and social service counselling services to the community. Our contact center is staffed with Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Coordinating Nurses and Contact Centre agents. In addition they have 24-hour medical oversight and advice from an ALS Paramedic and Medical Doctor. MRIB has invested heavily into custom and internationally acclaimed turnkey software solutions for its medical call center and associated contact center needs. MRIB also provides counselling to HIV related issues through agreements with its customers.

4. TRAINING ACADEMY

Over the years our company has placed large emphasis in the development of people. We are a registered training center with the Botswana Training Authority (BOTA). As such we provide corporate and private first aid and first responder training in Botswana. We are also a recognized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site affiliated to the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa - the only such site in Botswana offering advanced level courses to healthcare professionals including nurses and doctors.
