Moonstone Stables

Moonstone Stables are located in Glen Austin, Midrand about 20 minutes drive from several show venues, offering training and graded shows in a variety of disciplines. The stables are easily accessible from North (Centurion / Pretoria) and South (Sandton) via the N1. Transport to and assistance at shows available.

FACILITIES:
* Large, fenced in sand arena and lunge arena.
* Excellent outrides with lots of cross country jumps, 5 minutes walk from the yard.
* The yard is surrounded by a 2m high electric fence and access is through an electric gate with your own remote.
* The tack room has bars on the windows and an alarm which is linked to ADT armed response.

We have happy, relaxed horses that are out in large paddocks during the day, and in their stables at night and during thunder storms.

* Blankets are put on when required (This may mean that it is only done at around 8pm, meaning no sweating horses while they wait for the temperature to drop).
* We feed concentrates two to three times a day (and five times for our two very old horses) depending on individual requirements. We will make sure your horse gets his supplements supplied by you.
* All horses have eregrostis 24/7.
* Bedding is generous and concrete floors have rubber matting.

Our staff are kind and patient, contributing greatly to the calm mindset of all the horses stabled here.

Owner and Instructor:
* The owner, who has run yards for over 25 years, lives on the property.
* She is a SANIC Level 2 (module 7) coach and a RWYM Level 2 coach.
* She has trained and taught in the UK and USA and worked for an equine veterinary practice for seven years.
* She has competed in open eventing, 1.2m showjumping, open equitation and elementary dressage.
* Currently studying the work of Dr Andrew McLean (Equitation Science, Sydney/Australia) and applies this work with success to training horses.

We have well schooled, sensible horses available for lessons, up to advanced dressage level. and calm honest horses to learn to ride and jump on.
