Within the broad category of cancer, there are many types and subtypes, as well as various stages of progression in each patient. Cancer as such does not necessarily kill the patient, but rather when the cancer has spread further to distant sites. It is then referred to as stage IV cancer, or metastasis, and is currently not curable. There are however many exciting possible treatments available which hold definite promise for meaningful outcomes, but costs are completely prohibitive. We are dedicated, firstly to find each patient in Namibia living with metastatic cancer in any form, secondly to obtain permission from such patients to provide us with complete and accurate information with reference to their specific cancer, and in the third instance to provide such information to research and funding institutions outside of Namibia. We are dedicated to find help, and since time is running out for most patients with metastatic disease, we need to get everyone involved without any delay.
