Meadow Meats - Wesselsbron

Meadow Meats is a family owned business founded by the late Kobus Dicks – a man with over 30 years of experience in the industry who tragically died in an aircraft accident on 7 December 2015.
Unlike other large abattoirs in South Africa that concentrate on feedlot animals, Meadow Meats is known as the biggest C-grade slaughterer in the country. The company focuses on lower grade cattle to use for example for manufacturing beef.
Meadow Meats consists of 3 abattoirs situated in Vryheid, Kokstad and Wesselsbron with a staff complement of more than 500 employees. Each abattoir has its own deboning plant.
At present Meadow Meats processes 400 cattle per day between the 3 abattoirs. A big percentage of these carcasses are sent to their own deboning plants, which have a combined capacity to debone 75 tons per day. These plants are in the process of being upgraded for export status.Our products are Halaal and are therefore regulated by the South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA). All inspections and classification of the products are done by independent audit company’s – assuring the highest standards are maintained.
