Maroi Conservancy Ladies

Maroi is situated in the Limpopo Valley on the banks of the mighty Limpopo River in South Africa. Maroi was established in 1993 by Hannes Nel. We currently have 350 hectares under cultivation divided between melons, citrus, tomatoes and other rotating crops.

Maroi Conservancy caters for the hunting of various species of wild animals on 8500 hectares / 21000 acres of pristine Mopani, mixed Bushveld and dense river reign bush as well as on different hunting concessions in Southern Africa. Maroi Conservancy is basically a cooperation between land owners, the concept that we laid down to all the land owners is sustainable utilisation. We are pulling all our land together into this great big hunting operation so what you have, is an enormous piece of land with lots of animals and no interior fences.

In December 2013 Mara Nel came up with the idea to start a hunting operation which specializes in lady and family hunts. Our aim is to hunt with ladies from all around the world and let them experience hunting in Africa at Maroi Conservancy.

A group of ladies coming to Africa or a mother taking her two sons on a hunting trip to Africa… The idea seems scary in some ways but exciting in so many other ways. That is where we come in. We understand the extra lengths that have to be taken to make this one of the best hunts you will ever experience and we aim to make every hunt life changing in any way possible, whether it’s your first trip to Africa or your first big 5 hunt in Africa, you will go home with many stories to tell.

I cannot explain in efficient words what hunting in Africa is like, I can only say that every day holds its own surprises and not one hunting story is the same. This magical place really pulls at hunters heartstrings and in the end you will be left with this great wealth of memories.

The most unique part of this operation is that you get to hunt with some of the most skilled lady Professional Hunters in South Africa.
