I have been an MC in a variety of events - sometimes by default- for as long as I can remember, primarily because I like talking, but critically because "many a good event has often been destroyed by poor facilitation", and that is bad for the organisers!
Professionally, as a PR Officer for most organisations I worked for, the MC role tended to come automatically, and this helped me grow into the task.
