More about Makojalo Venue & Guesthouse

Breath taking landscapes. Exquisite decor. Remarkable, unique rooms. Caring people.

At Makojalo Venue and Guesthouse we have creative minds with each their own speciality to prepare your function the best way we know how. We offer a beautiful, picturesque setting with magnificent views, exquisite décor and excellent food. This piece of heaven lies near the Verdefort Dome, a historic World Heritage site of outstanding natural beauty, just 7km from Potchefstroom.

Our accommodation ranges from horse stables, converted into luxurious, well-appointed standard, double and king size rooms as well as a honeymoon suite; to luxury safari tents in our game camp (listed under Tente Toe), all overlooking breath-taking landscapes.

You'll find that we are the perfect spot for some well-deserved R&R, bird watching, walking and enjoying beautiful sunsets or game -viewing. Fine cuisine in formal to relaxed atmospheres, such as pre-arranged picnic baskets and braais or sun-downers safari style, can add to your memorable stay.

Except from being a guesthouse we also specialise in various functions from weddings to kitchen teas. We offer our spacious hall and intimate chapel as a stunning wedding venue, equipped with a beautiful room for the bride and her bridesmaids to prepare for the wedding and a honeymoon suite for the newly weds to enjoy their evening.

We are the perfect setting for big and small functions, corporate events like year end celebrations and even specialised custom made proposals. Nothing is too small or too big for us.

Makojalo is a renowned Angus Stud Farm and game farm and this family farm’s name originates in a combination of each family member’s names: Ma (Mari) Ko (Kobus) Ja (Jan-Hendrik) Lo (Louise).
