The name Boknes is thought to have its origins from the Khoi people’s naming of the nearby river called the Bakanas River.

Maison Beach Guest House is positioned about 60m from the beach and offers views of the Indian Ocean which will mesmerise you. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean.

Maison Beach Guest House in the village of Boknes is approximately 125KM north of Port Elizabeth (1.5hours drive), 13 KM south of Kenton-On-Sea, 35KM south of Port Alfred, 65KM east of Grahamstown and about 200 km south of East London.

The village of Boknes includes a lovely child friendly lagoon and many surrounding pristine beaches. It also boasts some of the best fishing beaches in the area.
All beaches are walking distance from Maison Beach Guest House. The main swimming beach is monitored by lifeguards during peak season. The area is also known for seasonal whale watching.

Maison Beach Guest House ensures your full privacy as it is located on a separate wing on the property.

It offers stunning views of the ocean and is a stone’s throw from the beach.
