Lochvaal Emfuleni Welfare

Me. Sally Bruwer has been involved in charity for the last 31 years, and started the Shelter due to an increase in hunger, poverty and unemployment in the Vaal Triangle. Me. Sally Bruwer is very well known by the welfare, churches, schools, child care, NG Welfare, hospitals, clinics and businesses, who all refer people in need to her for help and assistance.Me. Selma Jonker has been involved in charity work for the last 22 years, and is the current chairperson.The organization was founded in 2001 by Me. Sally Bruwer and provides an average of 240 plates of food every day which amounts to 87, 600 plates of food a year.The Emfuleni Lochvaal Welfare, Family Care, Shelter, Development and Training Centre has been in existence for almost 11 years. It consists of 23 family rooms, a male and female dormitory that can accommodate 24 and 14 single residents respectively, a big dining room, main kitchen and a smaller kitchen for cooking.
