Koekais Guest Farm

We started building the new guest house on the farm Koekais in August 2012 and it was completed in August 2013. We are proud to present a beautiful and clean guest house to tourists from over the world. The house blends with nature and was built with stone from the farm and has a thatched roof. In the front of the house flows a stream for short periods when there is good rainfall in the catchment area. At these times there is also a bustling waterfall which was the main reason for choosing the specific site for the guest house.

The house was finished with good quality fittings and furniture and has three en-suite double bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size stove, oven and fridge with freezer. Between the living area and veranda are folding doors which allows nature into the house. There is a spacious lapa where one can easily lose track of time while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of the surrounding nature. There is a wide variety of wildlife – birds, vervet monkeys, kudu, steenbok, blue duiker, dassies (hyraxes), various rabbit species and other smaller animals like tortoises, meerkat and veld mice. The species less seen but present in the vicinity are cheetah, various fox species, leopard, aardvark, genets (muskeljaatkatte) and baboons. Then there are also the less loved species like snakes and scorpions, but with good awareness and common sense, they are no threat. The most venomous species present are the Cape Cobra and the Puff Adder.
