Kloof Pre-Primary School

KPP is a well established pre-primary school that is affiliated to the Department of Education. All of our teachers in the pre-primary are qualified with a degree or diploma and registered with the South African Council of Educators.

Our lovely building dates back to 1926 when the first Kloof Government School was opened on our premises, and we are also privileged to have one of the largest playgrounds in the Upper Highway area. Our garden has a bicycle track, jungle gyms, tree swings as well as vegetable gardens and sensory gardens, and is a haven for any small child.

As well as the beautiful playground, our children are fortunate to also have an art room with art activities provided throughout the day, as well as a large fantasy or dress-up area, and a dedicated room where perceptual activities are provided to stimulate their cognitive development.

All the activities throughout the day are child-centred to provide ample opportunities for active learning and creativity. Our Grade R's follow the CAPS curriculum provided by the Department of Education. They work through the language, mathematics and life skills in a way that provides for formal learning as well as many practical and concrete experiences which help the children to consolidate concepts in a far more effective way.

Our school caters for children from 2 years old up to Grade R. The Playgroup with the 2 to 3 years olds has 1 teacher and 2 assistants with 20 children in the class, while the Grade 000, Grade 00 and Grade R classes have 1 teacher and 1 assistant per class.

We do tours every Wednesday morning at 8:00am during the school term, and any interested parents who would like to find out more about our school are welcome to join us.
