Kleinmond Pleasure Boats - Beulah

Beulah en Kleinmond se bootjies is sinoniem met mekaar. Die pragtige bootjies word in die somermaande uitgehuur. Met haar luidspreker word die bootjievaarders aangemoedig, aangemaan, teruggeroep, reggeroep - met fyn oplettenheid en waarneming word almal dopgehou.

Daardie stem is so deel van die Kleinmond se 'beachfront' soos die Preekstoelboom. Ek is seker as mense in die winkelsentrums loop sal hul Beulah se stem herken voordat hul haar agter die winkelrakke sien :) Beulah se warm persoonlikheid en passie vir Kleinmond en sy mense (permanent of vakansiegangers) word gul in haar bestuur van die bootjies uitgeleef.

Mens kan dus nie dink dat hierdie vrou, so kleurvol soos haar bootjies, siek kan raak nie. Maar deesdae herstel Beulah na 'n mastektomie. Na aanleiding van die Ondersteunings Facebookgroep, is die bladsy 'n weerkaatsing van die warmte wat sy self uitstraal aan ander. Ek is 'n vriendin - en maak hierdie bladsy met liefde vir Beulah en sal dit voorlopig vir haar help bestuur totdat sy ten volle op die been is. The proper name for Beulah's Kleinmond boats, is Kleinmond Pleasure Boats. The lagoon and the colourful boats are synonymous with Kleinmond.

In summer the boats are rented out and managed under the watchful eye of Beulah herself. With a loudspeaker she guides, encourages and calls out to the boaters until they return after their allotted time.

Beulah knows the lagoon probably better than most people and is a wealth of information regarding the history, its moods and interesting places to see - like the wild horses that have been there for many years.
