Kildare Pre-Primary school was established in 1968, in the building owned by St Andrew's Church. Kildare Pre-Primary school is an independent, co-educational diverse school. We strive to stimulate young children towards independence through an holistic education, in a caring environment. We promote our philosophy of learning through play and incidental learning.
Our Staff
We have 12 staff members – a teaching Principal plus 3 qualified teachers, 4 trained teacher assistants, a bursar, admissions secretary, caretaker and a kitchen supervisor.
Our Classes
There are four groups.
Two younger groups (Teddies and Bunnies):
Teddy Class – Mrs Heather Porter
Bunny Class – Ms Olwen Howard-Browne
Two older groups (Elephants and Giraffes)
Giraffe Class – Mrs Jean Tobin
Elephant Class – Mrs Jo Griffiths (Principal)
Each group has 25 children.
Governing Body
The Principal is assisted by a Governing Body of 6 members, who may or may not be members of the school prior to election. They control finances, select staff and set policy. Elections are held at the AGM in March each year. We encourage new parents to become part of the Governing Body.
Parents Teachers Association (PTA)
The PTA Committee is made up of parents and teachers. They organise functions, raise funds, hold work parties, and generally assist in the maintenance of the school. We need moms and dads to volunteer to be on this important Committee. Meetings are held once a term in the evenings.
