Karma & Karma

Karma & Karma is a small garden and home gift shop located in the popular coastal city of Jacobsbay, situated on the west coast of the Western Cape. More than just a gift shop, Karma & Karma is the creative inspiration of a plant enthusiast’s ideas to create a unique shopping experience like no other.

Owned and operated by Markus Coetzee, who started the creative progress in early January 2015, the shop itself celebrates the beauty and perfection of the natural world, boasting unusual botanicals, carnivorous plants, Japanese moss balls, Tillandsias (air-plants), terrariums, natural objects, recycled art, curiosities, home accessories, antiquities, garden décor, handmade items and so much more! .

Markus carefully crafts each unique Tillandsia creation in his shop (like the one you received with this bio), and curates each item he carries with a discerning eye. Markus has been influenced by the natural world, travel, art and design, and the stories antiques carry with them. His obsession with the beauty of plants and flowers is prominent throughout the shop. He hopes that by connecting people with nature, he can help them further reconnect with their own selves, back to their roots.

As part of a going-green initiative, each guests that makes a purchase (online or direct at the store) receives a free packet of seeds to encourage them to go home and plant in their garden. Markus is passionate about environmental projects and firmly believes that such initiatives, no matter how small, contributes to making our world a better place.

Karma & Karma proudly supports local artist that use recycled items such as second hand metal plates and old wood pieces to craft beautiful modern works of art.

Future objectives for Karma & Karma will be getting the Tillandsia creations to more retailers in other cities around the world, and focusing on giving back to the community and making the world a greener and happier place.
