Kamerkloof lies in the heart of the extraordinary biodiversity of the Baviaanskloof UNESCO World Heritage Site. The transition of landscape is sometimes so sudden you have to be sharp to see it.
The Baviaanskloof contais 7 of South Africa's 8 biomes! It is the 3rd largest nature conservation area in South Africa with Black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Mountain Zebra and Cape Leopard. 200 heritage sites have been located estimated only to represent only 10% of those in existence!
Sandwiched between the Kouga and Baviaanskloof mountains, the "Valley of Baboons" is, at 180000 hectares, the third largest nature conservation area in South Africa.
Because of its uniqueness, the Cape Floral Kingdom is listed as one of the world's 25 "Biodiversity Hot-Spots". For this reason Baviaanskloof, locked away in relative isolation, is a natural treasure of the world.
