Joostenberg Primary School

Joostenberg Primary is a small farm school that is built on the Klein Joostenberg farm belonging to the Myburgh family in the Muldersvlei district. The school consists of 25 staff members and 737 learners in total. Most of the learners in our school are underprivileged, and therefore we rely heavily on organizational care and support. The school began with two large classrooms on the family farm which was then expanded with an additional three classrooms in the same architectural style. An office and ablution facilities were also added at a later stage whereby the Muslim Society Trust took care of the financial costs. A library in the form of a converted shipping container was opened in 2013 with the help of ABSA Corporate Financial Services, The Rotarieërs Goodwood and Vredelust Primary in Bellville. The rest of the school consists of prefabricated buildings developed by the Western Cape Education Department. Unfortunately, there is no exact date or year as to when the school was established but according to hearsay through various ex - pupils and their parents, it is believed to be approximately 60 years of age.
