Jacobs Well Schools encourage mentor-protégé relationships of trust rather than teacher-learner relationships. Mentoring is a nurturing process where a more experienced person (mentor) serves as a role model and teaches, sponsors, encourages, counsels and befriends, in an ongoing caring relationship, a less skilled or less experienced person (protégé) for the purpose of promoting the latter’s development.
