My name is Gavin Coleman and bladesmithing has always fascinated me. I got into knifemaking relatively young, being interested mainly in historical weapons, and created my first blades at 22.

Now my blades are heavily influenced by my understanding of combatives and the people who have influenced me in martial arts over the years. My goal is to produce "functional art" but I also believe that nothing in superfluous in the design of a weapon - and its the fundamental understanding of how it's used that will determine what it looks like. Just because it is a functional, every day tool, doesn’t mean it can’t also be aesthetically pleasing and crafted from beautiful materials.
