Immanuel's Haven

The Beginning

George and Bubbles Strangman gave birth to Immanuel’s Haven in 2000. Since 1995 they have cared for children at risk.

In 2006 they purchased a smallholding at Firlands, in Gordon’s Bay near Cape Town, South Africa with the vision of creating a place of sanctuary for children at risk.

Immanuel’s Haven is registered as a charity organization with a Welfare Fundraising Number 040 478 NPO and a SARS PBO Number 930030861.

Vision

To provide a sanctuary for children at risk; and a place of skills development for disadvantaged youth and adults.

The present

At Immanuel’s Haven we care for children at risk 24 hours a day.
Sewing classes started to unemployed ladies to help to uplift the community.

Existing dwellings on the farm are being renovated to provide adequate accommodation to house the children, household staff, child-minders and volunteers.

A crèche and aftercare facility is established that provides for the children a safe environment.

George and Bubbles continue to serve within local welfare initiatives, collecting and distributing all types of household items, clothing and food to the community.

A general household bric-a-brac and clothes warehouse has been set up and is regularly stocked to assist those in need living within The Helderberg Basin.

The future

More buildings must be built on the farm to accommodate all the children.

Key upliftment training will be offered, to include poverty relief projects.
Vegetable gardening and Skills training for children at risk and adults.

Needs

Adopt a child in our crèche to help us to cover the overhead costs.
We take children in our crèche from a very poor community. They do not have any funds to pay for the caring of their children.
