Johan Barnard saw there was a huge demand and started selling wood on a part-time basis back in 2001. When he was retrenched 4 years later in 2005, he made it his full-time job. After being in the wood business for 10 years, “Hoppie’s Braaiwood” has expanded its product range to include firelighters, charcoal, briquettes, wholesale plastic bags and even the braai stands itself. With this, the company has been rebranded as “Hoppie’s Distribution”.

During 15 years of distributing the driest Doringhout, Rooikrans, Namibian, Lemoen (Citrus) and Blackwattle braai wood, Hoppie’s Distribution product range include everything South Africans need to make a lekker braai (except the meat).

We supply various retail outlets, service stations, café’s / supermarkets, butchery’s, convenience stores & much more.

We have the sole rights to distribute a fine brand such as Sudwest throughout the Eastern Cape, and distribute to well-known retailers in the Port Elizabeth, Jeffreys Bay and Uitenhage areas and more.

This family run business, owned by Johan ‘Hoppie’ Barnard and his son, Ian Barnard, has grown tremendously in the past few years, but still believe that the customer comes first and go the extra mile to give great service.
