Hoekwil Country Market and Car Boot Sale

The Hoekwil Country Market was started one day early in 2016 by Mariëtte Künkel.

Mariëtte's whole aim and object with this market is to give all entrepreneurs, anyone who cannot succeed in joining other markets, a platform and an opportunity to come and sell their fresh produce, home baked products, eggs, nuts, jams, biscuits, handmade articles, plants, flowers, woodwork, art…. the list of possibilities are really endless. Anything 2nd hand, clean and still in good and working condition… anything electrical, glassware, silver, too many things to list here. There are no strict rules, except guns, ammo, fireworks and alcohol are not permitted. The fee per stand is only R50. She wants everybody to come and have a good time, interacting with one another, enjoying the beautiful country side, relaxing and having fun! Dogs on leashes are also welcome! Perhaps a fun dog-show can be held one day….the smallest, the biggest, best dressed, clever tricks, etc…..

Hoekwil is such a beautiful, perhaps hidden gem in the Garden Route and it is high time that we put this gem on the map with a vibrant and busy little country market!
