It started small. But it made sense. Most importantly, it worked. It seemed radical. Overwhelming at times, and even impossible. But then we realized, it wasn’t. It isn’t. It’s simple really. HELPING HANDS OUTREACH PROGRAMME is a non-denominational initiative managed by the Islamic Educational & Religious Trust. Regardless of religion, race, colour or creed, we are here to help.

We do this by seeking out communities and institutions in need and, following assessment, initiate sustainability aimed programs that relieve immediate suffering but also lift the fabric of the community in empowering and meaningful ways. We focus greatly on inculcating a sense of community and empathy in our programs – especially amongst our youth - to ensure sustainability of our initiatives. Some of these include: feeding schemes, soup kitchens, blanket-drives, vegetable gardens, motivational talks, dental drives, up-skill and mentor programs, as well as just basic kindness awareness. Because kindness goes a long way. Kindness can change the world.

All of our good work is achieved by using the “Circle of Influence” of each individual involved in Helping Hands – our method is driven off the philosophy, “If each man helps his neighbour, who would need help?”
