Thank you for your enquiry regarding hosting your function at GEM.

I would like to assure you that we will strive to accommodate your every need and ensure that your function is your most memorable one.

With over 25 years of experience in both the food & beverage and the coordinating industry, GEM (trading as CN Catering Services) offers you a wide selection of plated or buffet menus.

From Weddings, birthday celebrations, fashion shows, product launches to corporate events, we custom make packages to suit both your functions theme and budgets needs. Conveniently situated just off Concorde road in Bedfordview, near Eastgate shopping centre (10 Concorde Road West), our premises offer you a choice of venues as well as ample, safe & secure parking.

Venue Hire Venue hire shall be charged for the area you have chosen. This is a set fee and it is for the entire duration of your function up until 1:00am. An extra hour is available at a fee of R 1 000.00 till 2:00am where the venue is then closed. The venue shall be available from 8:00am on the morning of your function for set up. If there is no function booked the day before your event, you are more than welcome to set up 1 day prior with no additional costs. You may have any items delivered the day prior to your function.

Venue
The Main Ballroom seats up to 300 guests dinner & dance, with room dimensions of 21m x 22m with the ceiling height of 3.2m

There is direct access to the patio from both the main hall & bar area with an additional seating of 170 guests banquet style.
Our smaller venue seats 60 guests banquet style which is also ideal for conferences, lectures & presentations.




Please note that GEM is strictly a NON SMOKING VENUE.
Smoking is ONLY allowed on the patio and in the adjoining garden

No breaking of plates or burning of whisky allowed

GEM shall not tolerate any forms of guest’s bad behavior and/or disrespect to the property as well as GEM is not held responsible for any loss, damages or breakages which may occur on the premises

Failure to adhere to any of the above rules of the premises will result in GEM reserving the right to stop the function immediately.

Staffing There shall be 1 waiter for every 10 guests @ R40.00 per waiter per hour and there will be 1 barman for every 100 guests @ R50.00 per barmen per hour.

Linen GEM provides standard round white floor length tablecloths. You may however bring in your own overlays, napkins, chair covers and tablecloths. This will be at your own cost and will be required to be delivered a day prior to your function.

Guest List All guest lists and final seating arrangements are to please be delivered the day prior to your event in both alphabetical and table format. GEM shall supply an easel and a board for your guest list, or a registration table for seating cards. Final numbers to please be confirmed 72 hours prior to your function.

Catering Attached are various options for menus. Please be aware that these are simply guidelines, and we can custom make a menu to suite your guests needs. Kosher & Halaal meals can be arranged but need to be notified one week prior to your event.
Please discuss directly with management should you require to add any traditional dishes to one of the chosen menus.






Bar Corkage only applies to:
Champagne @ R 170.00 per bottle Whisky @ R 150.00 per bottle Wine @ R 70.00 per bottle
Please advise well in advanced if there is a particular beverage/brand which you would prefer which does not appear on the list so that arrangements can be made to have it available for your event.

Account Only once you have confirmed and booked your date we will require a non refundable deposit to secure your booking and venue. The balance is due one week prior to the function. All extras are to be settled 72 hours prior to your function.

Traditional Weddings (Hindu, Muslim, Kosher)
For traditional catering purposes, client may choose one of our preferred caterers from our attached list of recommended suppliers and deal with them direct as far as menu & payment is concern.
Management is negotiable to the choice of traditional caterers but a meeting needs to be arranged to ensure that your suggested caterer is able to meet all of GEMS expectations
The client is then liable for R 80.00 per head surcharge payable to the venue direct, this fee is non negotiable!
Venue Hire & staffing will be charged as per above charges under the relevant headings. Beverages will be charged upon consumption as per the client’s instruction.
