Heidedal Live

Heidedal Live is a group of young people, consisting of singers, dancers, poets and organizers with one common goal - to bring change in the lives of the young people in our community.

The whole aim of this project is to create and establish an environment in which people from within the community can come together with their different skills and talents to bring about change. Some of the reasons why young people go astray include: lack of activities within in the community, lack of life-skills training and also the platform which local artist do not receive in order to showcase their talents.

Current challenges that are encountered in Heidedal at the moment are linked with:

Drug abuse
Teenage pregnancies
High dropout rate in schools
Increase in HIV infections
Youth reluctance to test for HIV…

And this is the reason for the Heidedal Live project: to bring about change to our
Heidedal Society, to bring back the culture, the arts and to showcase the multiple of talent that exists within this community.

Heidedal Live is all about grooming young people to become active and compliant citizens which in the end will bring about a sense of belonging to achieve certain goals within the community.
