More about Hazard Gallery

HAZARD is a contemporary art, fashion and lifestyle space that encompasses an art gallery and vibrant urban cultural hub in the heart of Johannesburg – Africa’s most cosmopolitan city.

Hazard is chance and change - a state of being in constant flux. Hazard is in the gallery, on the streets and in conversations in the secret rooms of the city. It is a place where contemporary fashion, design and art collide.

It is about the great things and thoughts that move us - and those singular experiences that never leave us. It looks with hope to the future by enriching the present.

Hazard originates from the Old French word, 'hasart' meaning “a game of dice” and before that from the Persian 'zār' meaning ‘dice’.

HAZARD stands on the shoulders of its former incarnation, NIROXprojects, and maintains a strong link to NIROX. Unlike it’s forefather HAZARD is a commercial space and introduces the elements of fashion, exquisite functional, luxury products and cross-discipline collaborations.
