Gatsby Polo Event – 5th of June 2016 @ Shongweni Polo Club

We would like to cordially invite you to the Gatsby Polo event, where top teams from Gauteng, KZN, Western Cape and the Free State will all be competing against one another. Join us on Sunday the 14th of June where everyone will be dressing up in a "Great Gatsby" theme and enjoying a fun day out in true polo style. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed! Ladies think vintage hats, gloves and pearls.
We are currently looking for corporates to sponsor the 4 polo teams. Each team will represent their corporate in branded gear as well as the opportunity to set up their own marquees or a corporate picnic site whereby they can invite their top clients for an exciting and glamorous day out. This national tournament is one of the most prestigious event on the SA polo calendar.
Join us for a day of stylish fashion, vintage cars, fast horses, glamorous girls, champagne and good food.
Party with a purpose, funds raised from this event will go towards furthering Education and Training Non-Profit Organisations to help underprivileged children and give them an opportunity to pursue their goals in life.
The official vehicle partner will showcase their luxury cars, which will be parked & displayed alongside the field. There will also be a Vintage Car show on the day!

Top official fashion partners for the day will showcase their latest ready to wear designs in an eye- catching fashion show. Drawing inspiration from the fashion element of polo, cosmetic companies will have touch up stations for their make-up artists and hair stylists to treat guests to a truly pampered experience.

Event Times:
Start: 10:00am with Polo Parade & Marching Band
First polo game: Starts @ 10:30am to 12:30pm
Lunch Break: 12:30pm to 1:30pm Fashion Show & Vintage Car Show
Final Polo Game: Starts @ 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Best Dressed Guest & Prize Giving 4:00pm
After party with top DJ’s in the main marquee

DRESS CODE:
Ladies Apparel
Beads, flapper, velvet, kimonos. These four will be your friends. Drop waists were the most popular style back then, so try to avoid anything that gives the illusion of small/cinched waist or full skirted dresses! The more shapeless it is the better & don’t forget your hats!
Gents Suits
Gents can sport a 3 piece suit, in slim cut with a white suit jacket. Put on a crisp white shirt, a vest, a clean jacket with high-waisted trousers. Run with any color you like, contrasting prints are encouraged! If not, clean black pants with a white dinner jacket work just as beautifully too. Don’t forget the bow tie, suspenders & Gatsby hat!
