We will be negotiating with one of the major Eastern Cape newspapers, the
Daily Dispatch to do an editorial on the children’s village. They brought the plight of the children’s village to the public’s attention 2 years ago, We will negotiate with them to allocate free advertising space to our sponsors with the editorial..
Our immediate needs:
R 300000.00 for the housing structures. This has been secured from Khethekile Mining situate in Newcastle, KZN;
R 30 000.00 to clear, level and compact the site with required retaining walls. This has been secured from Barry Moldenhauer, Fort Jackson Built It;
R 40000.00 for paving. The structures will be placed on the paving. Sponsorship required
R 60 000.00 for JoJo tanks (4 x 15 000lt tanks) Sponsorship required
R 15 000.00 to equip the bathrooms and toilets. Sponsorship required
R 20 000.00 for a shade port. Sponsorship required
R 36 000.00 for 6 bunk beds for older children and 13 cots/children beds.

R 100 000.00 to equip the kitchen with 2 fridges, 2 gas stoves, 1 freezer, 2 washing machines, kitchen cupboards, work surfaces and accessories (pots, pans etc.) Sponsorship required

 How will your investment be managed
All contributions will be paid into the trust account of Catherine Gray Incorporated.
All payments for purchases will be made from the trust account
Catherine Gray Incorporated will report to each sponsor with a full reconciliation of all
donations, money spent on each item etc. Documentary proof will be supplied on request.
What assurance will you have that goods purchased will remain the property of and be utilised by the children’s village
The children’s village will be situate on the property being leased by Fort Jackson Built It. Accordingly Barry Moldenhauer will be able to inspect the village on a regular basis to ensure that the running of it on a day to day basis is of the highest standard.
The Department of Social Development have assigned a social worker who will work with the children on a day to day basis
How will the children’s village survive month to month after your investment
Catherine Gray will pay a monthly amount of R 2000.00 towards the living costs of the children.
Once our structure is in place and we comply with the minimum requirements, the Department of Social Development will assist in ensuring that we receive the Foster Child Grant of R800.00 per child per month.
One of the local Spar outlets has indicated their willingness to deliver weekly donation (near expiry) food to the children’s village. This is still to be secured.
We will establish a vegetable garden at the village for consumption and extra produce sold to local vendors.
We will be negotiating with a manufacturer of wool products to donate wool which can be used by the care givers to make warm clothing / blankets for the children or to resell the knitted products to local vendors.
