Funtaskids

Most education systems impose a way of thinking and seeing the world on students, only focusing on evaluations on paper and grades. South Africa is no different. Later most of these students follow the only model they were taught: Finding a job in a company or to try and get a job in public administration (independently from what title or potential they possess). Now, in times of crisis, there are not enough jobs and countries need innovative and creative people to change the situation. However, students were never shown how to believe in themselves, their talents, their creativity and their skills to be independent and solve problems.

Funtaskids wants to help young people better prepare for their future. Through a series of demanding programs, workshops and hands-on projects they will acquire valuable business, social, entrepreneurial and life skills.

The heart of Funtaskids is to enable kids to take responsible decisions, believe in themselves, their skills and talents, so that they learn how to make a difference, change the world and do not have to depend on governments, companies or other institutions to be able to work, live and find happiness.

In South Africa we live in a sports orientated culture and society - where every young boy wants to represent his country as a Springbok, Protea or playing for Bafana Bafana. And the poor girls ? Study - work hard - get a good job - find a good husband !

At Funtaskids we want to change the focus on Sport and put more emphasis on Entrepreneurial education and development - where every child could represent their country !

The aim of Funtaskids is for each student that joins one of our iCAN Workshops to develop their:
*Critical thinking and problem solving skills
*Self-esteem and leadership capabilities
*Agility and adaptability skills
*Initiative and entrepreneurialism skills
*Interests, experiences and special talents
*The recognition of their own diversity
*Development of their curiosity and imagination
