Fontein Horses

Perfectly located 15km east of Ladismith, Fontein is nestled within the rolling foothills of the Klein Swartberge, directly beneath the Seweweekspoort Peak, the highest mountain peak in the Western Cape. Pierre and Carien de Clerk, owners of Fontein Horses welcome guests to an exclusive and authentic experience of the Klein Karoo from the saddle of the SA Boerperd.

Through private safaris and outrides, riders embark on a sensational journey through the myriad of Fontein’s landscapes where they can expect to see anything from indigenous game species such as kudu, eland, gemsbok, hartebeest to the endangered Cape Mountain zebra.

The luxurious accommodation, which includes seven en-suite bedrooms and various lounge and entertainment areas is the perfect synthesis of old world charm and African heritage. As the day draws to a close guests are invited to retire to the porch with coffee, chocolate and port, whilst taking in the starry night and listening to the nocturnal rhapsody of the vast, black Karoo evening.
