FDC - Fundação para o Desenvolvimento da Comunidade

The FDC is a civil organization, without party affiliation, which aims to join forces of all sectors of society in the realization of an ideal of development, democracy and social justice. This foundation comes from the conviction that poverty is not inevitable. It is the result of a complex mechanism of marginalization and exploitation of the disadvantaged, the poor dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge and appropriate technologies, a system of access to resources enjoyed by hard strata which do not benefit from education and framing in formal institutions society and the economy. This set of factors negatively conditioned the attitude of man towards nature and life, it also prevents use for their own benefit and sustainable manner, the resources that are already available. These structural and psychological obstacles are the roots of poverty that the FDC seeks to combat.
