Eshowe Hills

Eshowe Hills is well known for the outstanding 18 hole golf course which was upgraded by European Masters Champion, Jeff Hawkes. Visiting golfers have a choice of luxury accommodation at either the Secretary's Cottage, or self catering accommodation at The Weavers Nest. The estate boasts six tennis courts complete with separate clubhouse, The Active Gym and two squash courts.

Those interested in more relaxing pursuits, such as bird watching will be in a prime spot. The Zululand Birding Route is known worldwide. It is a project of Birdlife South Africa and focuses on the conservation of birds and their habitat. The forests of Eshowe Hills are part of the Dlinza Forest and are home to the species found there including the Spotted Ground Thrush, the Green Malkoha, Narina Trogon and White-Eared Barbet.

Eshowe Hills was planned and developed with the object of enhancing and improving the natural environment. No natural forest areas were destroyed. In fact more than 3000 indigenous trees have been planted since the project commenced while alien species, such as gum trees, have been, or are in the process of being, eradicated. On your walks around the estate look out for Bush Buck and Blue Duikers aswell as the vast bird life, and take in the breath taking views across the Zululand hills to the Indian Ocean.
