Easterns Eagles Super Fives

Easterns Eagles is a Super Fives franchise representing the Eastern Gauteng Region of South Africa.

Super Fives is the latest format that has been introduced by the FIH to create a more exciting and shortened version of the game that aligns with other international sports codes like Cricket (T20), Rugby (Sevens), and Soccer (5s)...

...as passionate hockey players, we recognise the importance of this format of the game in South Africa, and have aligned with South African Hockey Association (SAHA) and Frontier Sports (managing the commercial rights of SAHA) to drive this format of the game at grassroots level.

The format of Eastern Eagles Super Fives is run as a combination of indoor and outdoor hockey. There are a maximum of 10 players per team with 5 playing on the field at any given time (including the goal keeper). It is played on an astro field utilising just under half of a standard field making the games a lot faster and more exciting. The game is played with three 12 minute chukas with 2 minute intervals between each chuka. You can score from anywhere on the field using your hockey stick. The side boards may be used to rebound the hockey ball. Super Fives takes place in the spring and summer seasons.

We're also working with the Masters Hockey community to create an investment pool to assist with investment, mentorship & to create a channel for impacting the next generation of SA Hockey super stars.
