Durban Undersea Club

D U C, as its familiarly known, is a family orientated, social activities club for people that have an interest in the ocean and it's beaches.

DUC is situated on the beach in Durban at Vetch's Pier, between Ushaka Marine World and the northern harbour breakwater. The facilities at the club include the following:

•A large clubhouse with bar and kitchen facilities
•Clean ablutions
•Dining area
•Function facilities
•Fully equipped dive locker with a 450lt/min air and nitrox compressor
•12 sets of SCUBA Equipment for hire
•A washing up area with rinse baths and showers for dive kit and boats
•Safe parking with controlled access
•Easy foot access to the beach from the sun tanning lawn area outside the clubhouse.

The calm waters and protection from the Bluff makes the DUC beach one of the safest and best for beachgoers with children.

THURSDAYS
Club nights are held every Thursday night from 4pm until late. The objective of the club night is to offer an opportunity for members to connect and network as well as plan their weekend diving and ocean activities with each other.

The surf ski members meet on late Thursday afternoons / evenings for a social paddle and course race, followed by a club meal and a rehydration session.

Diving members are able to fill their air cylinders for free if they enjoy a main meal from the club kitchen on a Thursday night. (This offer can only be redeemed on the night - no accumulation). Nitrox fills are also available at a discount on a Thursday with a main meal.

FRIDAYS
The club kitchen is open on Fridays from 1pm until 8pm. So think of your club as the spot for your "knock off work early" Friday lunch or the place to go with the kids after school.

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS
These are the club's most popular days with the club's beach users.
Braai's and charcoal are supplied every Sunday at no charge to members who wish braai. Members are welcome to bring their own meat or they can purchase braai packs from the kitchen.
