Biography

DumiCossa was born and raised in schoemansdal (Skhemza) a village situated in the Mpumalanga province, South Africa.

He grew up listening to kwaito, fell in love with music and started writing rhymes when he was ten years old in grade 4. Dumi started battling and attending cyphers when he was fourteen years old and also recorded songs that very same year. In 2009 he became a member of "TheDarkness" and released songs with the crew.

He may have started as a kid. However, he feels that he mastered his poetic skills in 2013 when he was matriculating. In 2014 he released a various number of projects including hit song "Abanalutho" which was playlisted in various radio stations. In that very same year he was crowned king of rhymes in College and earned a shot to perform live on Sabc3.

He believes to be the new Steven Biko because he was born on the very same day of the passing of the late General Steven Biko, September 12. Dumisani tackles real life issues, educates and tell the untold stories of the black child to the listeners of his music.

Not to say he's the best but Dumi's non-fictional content makes him overstand the game than the rest. He is now a student activist and on the verge of completing his first degree at the University of south africa.
