Izidro Duarte

Born in Portugal, Izidro (affectionately known as Izzy) lived most of his young life in Mozambique and came to South Africa as a young lad of eleven. He studied at the Witwatersrand School of Art under Robert Bain, Philip Botha, Joyce Leonard, Phil Kolbe and Anna Vorster. He then went on to further his studies in London at the Camden Art Institute. Thereafter he worked for a number of years as a book illustrator. It was in 1970 that Duarte began his career as a full time artist and he has not looked back since.
He lives, breathes, grapples with, challenges and celebrates art daily. It's who he is. He is an artist inspired by nature, the earth, Africa and her people.

Frances Schandera Duarte

Frances Schandera-Duarte paints, glues, layers with oil crayons and paint, ink, gauze, debris and various papers her often meditative paintings. White provides her with the greatest imaginary space - visionary elements flash out and allow
many different interpretations. With living surfaces and idiosyncratic structures they obtain mysterious images without any figurative context. Her works cause the viewer to move in order to get as much information about image and surface as possible. It allures him to touch the surface.

Everett Duarte

Everett Paul Duarte is a contemporary South African artist who’s abstract paintings celebrate colour, life and spirit in an organic way. Bursting, flowing, decomposing and re-emerging the forms appear in a constant state of transition.
The visual language he creates on the canvas is both powerful and engaging,
with each piece he intertwines a story about the natural course of existence.
