Drumshack is dedicated to finding ways to use music and sound for health and happiness - rhythm & vibration is in essence a direct result of hands on drumming.
Music speaks in a language that children seem to instinctively understand. Music and sound can help strengthen a child’s mental, emotional, physical and social development. Encouraging children and their families to integrate this fun, yet powerful tool into their lives can help build a strong foundation for them to face life’s big and small challenges. Here are some suggestions we have for doing this:
Make music an ongoing part of your family’s life - have fun and play! Be open to sing, create, and experiment with all types of sounds.
Expose children to nature regularly, and listen to the sounds around you. Nature is full of calming and rebalancing sounds.
Remember, while you hum, you are stimulating two otherwise unexercised muscles in the inner ear, which is physiologically calming. Other benefits of humming include: easing pain and tension, improving mood and memory, and quieting the mind - all of which enrich cognitive development.
Drumshack conducts hands on workshops to help families integrate music, humming and fun for life. We'd love to come to your facility, school or community event.
