Dr Jennifer Crombie

It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of a new general practice in July 2016 at the Pinecare Centre in Pinelands – Dr Jennifer Crombie and Dr Ruth Ward.

Dr Jennifer Crombie graduated with MBChB from the University of Cape Town in 2009. She completed her 2 year internship in Pietermaritzberg, KwaZulu-Natal and her community service year was served at the new Khayelitsha District Hospital in 2012. Jennifer obtained a Diploma in Mental Health through the Colleges of Medicine SA in 2013.

Jennifer began working as a permanent locum for Dr Denise Kotze in Pinelands in August 2013 where she has gained invaluable experience. Jennifer is very grateful for Dr Kotze’s mentorship, and to have benefitted from her wisdom and medical knowledge. She has also worked alongside her at the Robin Trust Subacute Rehab (physical rehab) on the Oude Molen property where they provide care to the patients of the 10 bedded ward. Dr Crombie stopped working there in March 2017 to dedicate herself to the running of her practice.

Dr Ruth Ward graduated from Wits in 1984 with MBChB. She completed the postgraduate Diploma in Child Health and the Family Medicine specialist qualification (MFGP) with Colleges of Medicine SA. Ruth has worked in family medicine for many years, including starting 2 of her own practices in Johannesberg. She has also obtained a Bachelors in Theology with a Major in Pastoral Care, and a Masters in Biblical Studies, and has been involved in counselling at Rosebank Union Church for about 15 years.

Dr Crombie will be working in the mornings from 8:30 – 11am and Dr Ward will work in the afternoons from 2 – 5pm. We will be offering home visits to those patients who are too ill to come to the surgery, as well as an after-hours service in partnership with Drs Mark Stodel, Les Smith and Jonathan Davies.

We look forward to serving the community of Pinelands and surrounds over the coming years.
