More about Dollywood Dining-Point Waterfront

DOLLYWOOD DINING – Authentic Durban Cuisine
An exciting new addition to the Durban Curry experience has opened at the Point Waterfront in Browns road. Dollywood is now under new Management. Dollywood Dining is going to reinvent the bunny chow experience with pimped up side orders and meals true to the hotels and taverns of Chatsworth and Phoenix.
Partnering with the management team is local chef Jenny Naidoo who owned the popular Punters diner at Springfield for 5 years before doing a stint at TSD where she was runner up of the 2014 Bunny chow barometer held annually at the Blue lagoon. Jenny was also Head chef at the local North Beach hangout “Happy Chappy” for 15 years. Jenny’s passion for Durban curries and cuisine will ensure Durban flavours are represented authentically to both local and International patrons.
Dollywood has a beautiful outside Garden area that will cater for Shisha nyama and tandoori dishes and where locals can hang out with International visitors to enjoy the Durban experience.
Private luncheons can also be booked with the restaurant seating 100 diners.
The name Dollywood refers to the Durban film industry and the concept and décor behind the restaurant will see local actors, musicians, playwrights, and artists pictures and portraits adorning the walls. The music will be a fusion of eastern and western sounds with Durban artists also featuring in the playlist.
Dollywood promises to provide a mouth watering experience in an upmarket vibey atmosphere where excellence, quality and value will ensure visitors get a true Durban experience.
The speciality dishes include Tripe and Peas, Braised lamb brain and tongue, trotters and beans, masala fried fish, cut up chops, sour porridge with pickles, dried fish chutney and many other authentic Durban Indian dishes originating from Cato-Manor, Chatsworth and Phoenix.
