De Fayebosch, a 9ha olive farm, is situated at the foot of Kanonkop between Melkbosstrand and Malmesbury.
Originally named Full Circle, the owners called the farm after their 4 daughters (Faye – the initials of the four girls). Also meaning in French the fairy bush or direct translated the belief bush, the family lives close to nature. The farm carries 1600 trees.
The four varieties are Mission, Calamata, Lecchino and Frantoia. The last two varieties are commonly used for the making of olive oil. Currently all olives are handpicked and handmade in a variety of olives in brine, olive chutney, olive mayonnaise, olive jam, olive pesto, olive seasoning, olive tapenade, sun dried olives, chocolate coated olives and olives & feta. Olive oil is from origin.
The owners are also keen animal lovers and prefer to live a self sustainable lifestyle. A variety of chickens are kept for fresh eggs everyday. The vegetable patch consists of a variety of veggies, strawberry patch, pomegranate trees, lemon and fig trees as well as a chili field.
Currently the owners also experiment with French, English and Dutch lavender.
The logo (Olive vogel) is designed by well known illustrator Piet Grobler and represents a message of hope.
