Tony Jackman and Diane Cassere have taken over Schreiner's where they combine good food with a sprinkling of Karoo literature against a backdrop of quirky vintage music. Browse Tony's collection of books on his heroine Olive Schreiner, as well as tomes on the Anglo-Boer War, Rhodes and other colonial characters, and works by Lawrence Green and sundry other writers, while enjoying tea and cakes or a lunch from the blackboard menu. The tea room is an integral part of Cradock's lovely Market Street, with its gorgeous old Karoo houses with their striped afdakkies. These are the Tuishuise, the best accommodation from which to enjoy a few days in this lovely part of the Karoo.
