Coverside Guest Farm

Located between the Great Kei River and the Hogsback Mountains, Coverside Guest Farm, near Cathcart in the Eastern Cape, offers a unique experience to all who visit. Stillness is what you will find in the veld; most people come here to relax, braai, read a good book, look at the stars and then go for a walk. Coverside offers majestic views up and down the valleys and across the plains as far as the eye can see…spoil your senses!
Situated in what is known as the ‘Coverside Valley’ leading toward the upper course of the mighty Kei River, this farm offers much in its biodiversity; an abundance of birdlife, wildlife and flora can be viewed in all their different stages throughout the year. Presently impala, eland, kudu, rhebuck (mountain reedbuck), Burchell’s zebra, waterbuck, blesbuck, re hartebeest, warthog, bushpig, antbear, duiker, baboon, caracal, black-backed jackal and vervet monkeys, to name but a few, can all be seen on the over 1500 Ha of grazing and browsing.
Coverside Guest Farm is a working cattle farm too, home to a herd of over 250 beef cows, and growing! So for those wishing to get a taste of beef farming, feel free to roam the range and savour the outdoor working lifestyle.
Coverside Guest Farm’s homely experience will no doubt appeal to the walker, birdwatcher, game viewer, mountain biker and avid reader – that is YOU!

 At the 4-way stop in Cathcart, turn RIGHT into the Main Road

 Drive for 14 km’s on this road – it changes from tar to gravel
 DO NOT TURN RIGHT TOWARDS HENDERSON AND BLACKPOOL!
 Look out for a game fence on your right hand side
 Turn right into Coverside Guest Farm
 Drive into the yard
From Queenstown:
 Take the N6 motorway
 60 km’s to Cathcart
 At the 4-way stop in Cathcart, turn LEFT into the Main Road
 At the next 4-way stop (USave and Cathcart Butchery on the opposite corners) turn LEFT
 Drive for 14 km’s on this road – it changes from tar to gravel
 DO NOT TURN RIGHT TOWARDS HENDERSON AND BLACKPOOL!
 Look out for a game fence on your right hand side
 Turn right into Coverside Guest Farm
 Drive into the yard
From Fort Beaufort:
 Take the R67 north
 Go through Seymour
 Drive over the Nico Malan Pass
 Look out for the R351 to Cathcart
 Turn left onto the N2, into Cathcart
 Drive until you reach the 4-way stop
 At the 4-way stop in Cathcart, turn RIGHT into the Main Road
 At the next 4-way stop (USave and Cathcart Butchery on the opposite corners) turn LEFT
 Drive for 14 km’s on this road – it changes from tar to gravel
 DO NOT TURN RIGHT TOWARDS HENDERSON AND BLACKPOOL!
